2 questioned for alleged PER breach
Assistant spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the two allegedly organized a meeting at a hotel in Suva yesterday where more than 30 people gathered.
It is alleged that the public gathering took place without a permit as required under the Public Emergency Regulation.
According to police, the two will be taken in again for questioning if the need arises.
Meanwhile, two people are being interrogated by the CID officers in relation to the gruesome discovery of two bodies packed in a suitcase in Benai, Ba, on Saturday night.
The two dead are 31 year old Raja Manikam Venkatachalam and 40 year old Ram Krishnan Amrithalingam.
Both were directors of a scrap metal company in Nakasi.
A report of them missing was lodged on 18th December last year at the Nakasi Police Station by one of their friends residing in Davuilevu Housing.
The two who were residing at Willow Street, Nakasi, were last seen leaving for the Western Division.
A post mortem is expected to be conducted today.
