2 men charged with alleged murder remanded in custody
The two, Ravinesh Padiachi and Mohammad Nadeem's were today informed by Judge Justice Priyantha Fernando that the previous presiding Judge had ruled that they be remanded in custody and if they want to seek bail they would have to make further applications.
However their lawyer requested the court to consider bail as it is not known when the case will go to trial.
Judge Fernando stated that the courts decision is final at this stage.
The two are alleged to have murdered 36 year old Rajamanickam Venkatachalam, and 40 yr old Ramakrishnan Amirthalingham
Both men ran a scrap metal business in Nakasi near Nausori with a local business partner and were reported missing in mid December last year.
Their bodies were found in a suitecase in Benai, Ba in early January this year by a farmer digging an old pit toilet.
