The Digicel Fiji Sevens team has made it two out of two at the Pacific Mini Games in the Cook Islands.

The Iliesa Tanivula coached side defeated Wallis and Futuna 52-nil in their opening match and then beat Tahiti by 54 points to nil in their second match.

Fiji's next match will be against Cook Islands at 4:12pm and a win in that match will put them through to the semifinals.

Their last pool encounter will be against Niue at 5:40pm.

Meanwhile, Samoa recorded the highest points in the opening round after beating New Caledonia by 71 points to nil.

Waisale Serevi's Papua New Guinea side lost their second match Tonga by 19-7 although they won first pool match beating Solomons 17-12.

PNG will now have to beat Samoa to have any chance of progressing to the semifinals.

Tonga and Samoa are expected to qualify from Pool B while Niue may join Fiji from Pool A.

Niue won both their games so far beating Tahiti 43-0 and Cook Islands 34-0.
