Two families are mourning the loss of their children after two separate drowning incidents on Monday.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said a three-year old boy drowned in a creek in Navosa while an eight-year boy drowned in a drain.

The drowning death toll now stands at 33 compared to 22 last year.

Meanwhile, an investigation is now underway in relation to the body of a taxi driver discovered in Manoca Nausori yesterday.

Police said the body was discovered around 7pm last night.

Police have not ruled out foul play.

Investigations are also ongoing in relation to the alleged murder of a Caubati woman on Saturday.

Her body was discovered in her house and also had visible wounds.

More details are expected to be released later today.
