Two people lost their lives in separate road accidents today.
A 20 year old man lost his life in an accident today.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Suliano Tevita confirms that the accident happened at Tavarau Ba today when the 20 year old who was driving a truck failed to negotiate a bend and hit a culvert.
He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
In another incident, a 55 year old man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle early this morning while sitting on the road.
Sergeant Tevita confirms that the accident happened at Naviyago Lautoka at around 2 this morning.
The driver is now in police custody while police await the post mortem report.
Police are also looking for the relatives of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the road death toll now stands at 10 compared to 4 for the same period last year.
