Charges have been laid against the two men who were caught with illicit drugs were found at the Nadi Airport last week.

Police Spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said one of the two suspects is a 20 year old student and he has been charged with one count of possession of an illicit drugs while the other man, a 25 year old has been charges with one count of engaging in the transportation of illicit drugs.

Sokomuri said the charges have been laid as the two have breached the Illicit Drug Control Act 2004.

The two men were about to depart the Nadi international Airport bound for Australia when they were arrested by Border Police.

Sokomuri said the men will appear in court tomorrow and it believed that the two face up to a million dollar fine or even life imprisonment.
