Permanent Secretary for Information and Fiji Television Limited board member Lt Colonel Neumi Leweni has today confirmed that the Fiji TV management was recently asked to remove two senior news editors from the TV station’s newsroom.
Lt Colonel Leweni said he is happy that the issue has been resolved amicably with the two senior newsroom staff transferred to other departments.
Lt Colonel Leweni who is the Yasana Holdings representative on the Fiji TV board said it is heartening to see that the management is ensuring that bad practices are removed.
Fijivillage received information that the action was taken when some of the Fiji TV board members alleged that the two senior newsroom staff were involved in biased practices.
Fiji TV confirmed that the two senior officers are still part of the Fiji TV family.
The two officers who have been transferred to other departments are the Manager News and Current Affairs, Mereana Kitione and News Team leader, Anish Chand.
