Two former board members of the Fiji Broadcasting Cooperation have pleaded not guilty to a new charge of forgery in the Suva Magistrates courts this morning.

Daniel Whippy and Champak Kapadia were both charged on 1st May 2009 with one count of Obtaining Money by False Pretence.

However, FICAC Prosecutor Sanjeewa Dissanayake informed Magistrate Thushara Rajasinghe that the prosecution was seeking to withdraw the charge of Obtaining Money by False Pretence.

He revealed that was filing the substituted charge of Forgery.

Layers representing the two had no objections to the amended charges.

It is alleged that on 14th March 2004, the two had forged the Minutes of a Board meeting that did not take place.

The trial is scheduled for 27-29 October 2010.

The matter has been adjourned to 28th July 2010 for a pre trial conference.
