A 19-year-old tertiary student has allegedly drowned following a break up party at the Natadola beach in Sigatoka yesterday afternoon.
Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said the student had accompanied his church group for a break up party when he went missing.
Naisoro said that around 2.15pm the student went for a swim and was allegedly caught in the strong currents and was swept away into deeper waters.
She said the alarm was raised and with the assistance from staff at a nearby resort a search was conducted but without any success.
Naisoro added the search will continue again today.
