A 19-year-old man charged with rape appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.
Police prosecutors asked the court for the case to be transferred to the High Court as it is a serious offence and also because of the victim’s age.
The court heard the incident happened on the 25th of last month.
The case has been adjourned to be heard in the Suva High Court on the 16th of this month.
