Rewa High Chief, Ro Filipe Tuisawau believes that the changes the interim regime is trying to bring about, with the People's Charter, regarding the new electoral system and race based voting, in the next general election, is a clear indication that the 1997 constitution is not been recognized.
Ro Filipe said that it is unclear at this time whether they will stick to the 1997 constitution or they will abrogate it since the communal voting is protected under the constitution.
He added that the interim government is like a dictator where it is trying to force every citizen to follow what changes they want to be implemented.
Last Thursday, Commodore Frank Bainimarama revealed that the next general election will be held under a new electoral system where race based voting will be eradicated.
