A total number of 1,986 people are staying at evacuation centres around the Western division.
DISMAC officer Taniela Wacokecoke said after his team paid a visit yesterday they managed to move more than 300 families to the centres as most of their houses were damaged and flooded in the height of Cyclone Mick last night.
Wacokecoke said Rakiraki has 14 evacuation centres, Tavua 4, Ba 1, Lautoka 7, Navosa 7, Nadi 1 and Nadroga 1.
Meanwhile, food rations are expected to be distributed by the district officers today.
A Baulevu resident Surend Prasad said 7 people have taken shelter at their house.
In Muanaweni, farmers in Muanaweni Hillside have been affected the most as their crops have been destroyed.
A resident Jyoti said no houses sustained damages adding Muanaweni flats are under flood water.
Baulevu, Koroqaqa Resident Vijay Nath said water has entered more than 10 houses in the surrounding areas with levels rising.
Nath said 35 people are right now sheltered at their evacuation centre in Baulevu High School.
Waila Resident Rajesh Prasad said they have to move to double storey houses as water has started to enter houses in lowlying areas.
Meanwhile, all the women and children from Viria Village in Naitasiri have been moved to the nearby settlement while the men remain in the village.
Turaga-ni-koro of Viria, Waisea Nacou said that the water level continues to rise and flood waters are flowing into the village and most of the houses, the vegetation and the root crops have been totally destroyed.
Nacou added that there is no food left for them and if the water level continues to rise, Viria village could be totally submerged in water in the next few hours.
DISMAC has confirmed that 90% of Navua is still flooded.
Over 700 people are taking shelter at 8 evacuation centers alone in Navua.
According to DISMAC Over 2,000 people are now taking shelter at 60 different evacuation centers around the country.
From Waidina in Naitasiri, DISMAC's Waisale Tora said the village of Vanuakula suffered extensive damages.
