A 19 year old appeared in the Nausori Court today charged with allegedly raping a 19 year old girl on Saturday.
It is alleged that the 19 year old girl was returning home after a church service when she was approached by the accused who was drinking beside the roadside, who then pulled her into some bushes and raped her.
The victim sustained injuries during the attack.
The 19 year old appeared before Magistrate Salesi Temo today and pleading not guilty to the charges.
He has been granted a $5000 bail and ordered not to change his address and not to interfere with the witnesses.
The case has been adjourned till 16th February.
