18 PS names announced by PSC
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has been assigned four Permanent Secretaries.
They are Pramesh Chand as Permanent Secretary at the PM's office, Manasa Vaniqi as Permanent Secretary for Provincial Development, Taina Tagicakibau retains her post as Permanent Secretary for Public Service while Ratu Meli Bainimarama will serve under Commodore Frank Bainimarama as Permanent Secretary for Indigenous and Multi Ethnic Affairs.
Two Permanent Secretaries have been assigned to assist Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry. Peceli Vocea continues as PS for Finance, National Planning and Sugar Industry while Cama Tuiloma is the Permanent Secretary for Public Utilities Water and Energy.
Interim Minister Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi has also been assigned two Permanent Secretaries with Taito Waqa as PS for Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment with Litia Mawi serving as Permanent Secretary for Local Government, Urban Development and Housing.
Dr. Nuimaia Tabunakawai remains Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forests while Dr. Richard Beyer has been appointed Acting Permanent Secretary for Agriculture. The two will serve under Interim Minister Joketani Cokanasiga.
Newly appointed Interim Minister Filipe Bole also has two Permanent Secretaries assigned. Emi Rabukawaqa is the Permanent Secretary for Education, National Heritage and Culture while Subhas Chandra is the PS for Youth and Sports.
The Permanent Secretary for Justice, Electrol Reform, Public Enterprise and Anti Corruption is Pio Tikoduadua, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, International Co-Operation and Civil Aviation is Ross Ligairi.
Dr. Lepani Waqatakirewa continues as PS for Health, Permanent Secretary for Works and Transport is Anand Kumar, Banuve Kaumaitotoya remains Permanent Secretary for Industry, Tourism, Trade and Communication to assist Tom Rickets.
Permanent Secretary for Lands, Mineral Resources and Environment is Dr. Rohit Kishore while Malakai Tadulala is the Permanent Secretary for Defence, National Security and Immigration.
The PSC stresses that there are no new appointments, except for the Acting appointment of Dr. Beyer with the post to be advertised shortly.
These postings come into effect immediately.
