The Public Service Commission is unaware how over 170 people will lose their jobs through the restructure of the Government Supplies Department in Suva.
PSC Chairman, Rishi Ram said Interim Public Enterprise Minister, Poseci Bune has not informed him about sending 174 staff home.
Ram had told Village News last week that the interim government intends to reduce government expenses by 10 percent by the end of this year however this would not include job losses.
Bune told cabinet on Tuesday that the reorganisation of Government Supplies Department is part of the recommendations made by Accounting firm KPMG which highlighted alleged corrupt practices.
