A 16 year old student of Labasa is in police custody for allegedly defiling a 15 year old student.
The two are Secondary school students.
The alleged incident took place a number of times this year.
In another incident a 20 year old Tertiary school student of Labasa is also in custody for allegedly defiling a 16 year old school student a number of times this month.
The two are expected to be charged soon.
Police have called on parents to closely monitor their children as we approach the end of the school term for this year.
Deputy Director SP Erami Raibe said there has been a sudden increase in the number of defilement cases in the Northern Division and parents should be more vigilant.
