The Works Ministry has revealed that the total cost of damages to roads following the floods is $16.6 million.

Director of Roads, Rafael Warwick Smith said following their assessments last week, the worst hit was the Western Division with costs at $7.4million, $5.6 million for the Central and Eastern Division and $3.4million in the Northern Division.

Smith said they have already started carrying out some repair works on some of the roads to allow people to travel.

Smith said majority of the roads are open however they are waiting for approval for additional funds to continue repairing the roads.
