Police are expected to lay charges against a 16 year old girl for allegedly giving wrong information to a police officer.
Divisional Crime Officer Western ASP Vijay Singh said the girl told her mother that she was allegedly raped by her step father sometime between 16th to 17th March.
However, according to the police, the matter was reported to them on 22nd March after the victim was allegedly assaulted by the suspect.
According to ASP Singh, police have questioned and released the 28 year old man who was taken into custody for questioning on the alleged rape incident.
