There will be 16 horse racing this Sunday at the new horse racing track in Namosau, Ba.

Ba Town Council’s CEO Dip Narayan says the racing will start soon after the official opening of the $200,000 Multi-purpose Sports Complex at around 10.30am.

Narayan highlights that 72 horses from Rakiraki to Sigatoka have so far registered for the race.

He adds they have a committee which will be organizing the horse race and it is expected to be a monthly event now depending on the weather.

Meanwhile, the sports complex will have a horse racing track, a soccer and rugby field and a netball and volleyball court.

The pavilion has a seating capacity of 350 people.

The government has provided $200,000 for the project.
