157 vehicles which were operating illegally on our roads have been impounded by the Land Transport Authority so far.
Spokesperson, Ratu Eroni Volavola said the vehicles were impounded yesterday while the operation to crackdown on these illegal operators continues today.
He said some private vehicles have also been confiscated because these private vehicles were operating as Public Service Vehicles.
According to Volavola, the owners of these private vehicles have been monitored for some time.
Volavola said those drivers who have been caught for the first time will be given written warnings while those who have been booked more than once will have their wheel tax revoked and their vehicles will be de-registered.
