The foundation work for the US$150 million Nadarivatu Hydro Project is expected to commence at the end of this month.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Fiji Electricity Authority Chief Executive Officer Hasmukh Patel said for the last few months the Chinese Company Sino Hydro was involved in establishing camps to start the groundwork.
He added that the Nadarivatu Hydro project is one of National importance.
FEA is anticipating the completion of the project by August 2011.
The Nadarivatu Hydro Power station is expected to save $25 million Fijian dollars a year.
