The Land Transport Authority and Police have so far booked 1,504 drivers for various traffic offences during its operation that started on the 9th of this month.
LTA Media Liaison Officer Doreen Narayan said that so far 268 vehicles have been impounded while 16 vehicles have been deregistered.
She said 426 defect orders were issued while 46 drivers were given final warning.
She said the operation did not take place on Monday and Tuesday due to Hurricane Tomas however the operation is back on again.
She is calling on all the drivers to follow the traffic rules to avoid getting their vehicles impounded or getting booked.
