A total of 150 drivers were booked within the last 24 hours for speeding around the country.
Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra said a total of 248 bookings were recorded and 150 bookings were for speeding alone while 98 bookings were for other traffic matters.
SSP Mishra raised concern that despite issuing warnings to the drivers, they continue to ignore these warnings, adding police will be monitoring drivers during the weekend.
Meanwhile, police have interviewed and released the driver of the minibus who bumped a school student at Waimanu Road yesterday afternoon.
The student received minor injuries and has been discharged while police await the medical report to consider the charges to be laid against the driver.
