At least 15 road workers for the Suva City Council will lose their jobs when the Fiji Roads Authority will fully take over responsibilities of road maintenance in the country.

Special Administrator Chandu Umaria said out of the 180 road workers in their municipality, they have identified the number of people to be without jobs come next year.


According to Umaria these workers do maintenance works on the roads, patching and markings.

He added the Fiji Roads Authority will take over on the 1st of January next year.
