135 chiefs from the 215 vanua have so far confirmed their participation in the two-day Bose ni Turaga meeting next week at the Army Barracks.

Media liaison officer, Kini Rarubi said the response so far has been encouraging and they expected more numbers by registration time on Monday afternoon.

While questions have been raised on why 285 invitations have been sent out as there are only 215 Vanua chiefs, Rarubi said some of the chiefs coming as independent chiefs.

The agenda for the two day meeting includes the presentation from the interim government on the road map back to parliamentary democracy. There will also be presentations from the Fijian Affairs Board, Native Lands Commission, the Nadave School and the Health Ministry.

The registration for those chiefs who will be attending the meeting will take place on Monday at 1pm at QEB, and they will be billeted at the army camp.

The Bose ni Turaga will start on Tuesday at 9am at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks.
