13 men from the villages of Nailuva and Nasavu appeared in the Rakiraki Magistrate Court last night charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, damaging property and trespassing.
Five men from Nailuva village and eight men from Nasavu appeared, however, no plea was taken and the Magistrate ordered that they be remanded in custody at Namosau Prison since police are yet to complete their investigations.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said five men from Nailuva are being interrogated by police on the death of the 26 year old Nasavu villager.
He said a police team is based at the two villages and are speaking to the headmen to ensure people do not take the law into their own hands again.
