The presence of 13 locally based players in the Flying Fijian 43 member squad does not come as a surprise to the coaching staff.
Technical adviser, Greg Mumm said that these players in the likes of Jimilai Nakaidawa, Setefano Somoca, Ben Makutu, Apisalome Waqatabu, Adriu Delai and Tevita Cavuibati showed that they can stand their ground against some of the best from overseas.
The final 30 member team to the Rugby World Cup will be named after the All Blacks Test match on the 22nd of next month.
Coach Samu Domoni Jnr will select his 28 players for the Pacific Nation Cup from the current 43 member squad with the rest of the players to continue with their training program.
