A 12 year old girl is the latest road fatality on our roads.
The 12 year old died after she was hit by a car at Pacific Harbour while she was crossing the road.
Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra said the victim passed away at the CWM hospital yesterday afternoon.
According to police the victim crossed the road after getting off a bus driven by her father.
She was hit by the car who was trying to overtake the bus.
He has called on members of the public not to cross the road straight after getting off a bus. People have been urged to wait for the bus to go before crossing the road.
The car driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and is expected to appear in court later today.
