There is an urgent need for another 12 Magistrates to get the Magistrates courts back in full operation around the country.
Speaking to Fijivillage, the Chief Magistrate Ajmal Gulab Khan confirms that there is only one Magistrate in each division at this stage.
Magistrate Khan said all hearing of cases in the Magistrates court will remain on hold until adequate number of Magistrates are appointed.
Meanwhile, all High Court, civil and criminal, Fiji Court of Appeal and Supreme Courts remain closed and all cases remain on hold as the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo is yet to appoint any Judges.
