A delegation from the Japan Cabinet Office are currently in the country to discuss about preparations towards the 23rd Ship for World Youth Suva Fiji Port of Call programme next year.
In February next year, 160 youths from Japan and other countries will live together on board the ship and engage in various programs and activities such as studying and discussing common issue in the countries visited.
The programme started in 1989 and since then approximately 144 youth from Fiji have participated and have come back to share their experiences and knowledge locally.
The Ship for World Youth Fiji Alumni Vice President, Lavenia Rokovucago who was on board in 2005 and 2007 said they will mainly discuss about issues affecting them.
In January next year, 12 youths from Fiji will be leaving for 41-day international cultural exchange programme and as part of the port of call activity in February, the group will be visiting Secretariat of the Pacific Community, Forum Secretariat, and Molituva and Naila village in Tailevu and Muana village in Tailevu.
