The Police Commissioner has revealed that there was an increase in serious offences by 11 percent in the country in the 3rd quarter of 2012.

While addressing 376 officers in their parade at the FDB foreshore at about 5.30 this morning, Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua said the Force failed to meet 8 of their key performance indicators and only successfully achieved 2.

Commissioner Naivalurua raised concern that crime against women rose by 10%.

He also said that they were aiming to reduce offences against children by 10 percent however the reported cases only went down by 8 percent.

However he told the officers not to be disheartened by the results of the key performance indicators and use it to improve their performance and be accountable to the public they serve.
