Police are now investigating an alleged kidnapping involving a 10-year-old girl.
The family of the girl claim that she was kidnapped on her way back from school.
The alleged incident happened in Tuirara, Nasinu at around 3pm Monday.
The 10-year-old has told her family that a couple grabbed her, closed her mouth, covered her eyes and after slapping her, the girl claims that she was told to take her uniform off before they placed her in the boot of the vehicle.
The girl claims that she was then dropped off in Makoi before a family member found her and took her home.
A report has been lodged at the Nasinu Police Station.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says all efforts are being directed into this investigation and to bring whoever is responsible to justice.
Naisoro adds that investigators from the Nasinu Police Station have been tasked with ensuring a thorough investigation is conducted.
