A 10 year losing drought in the Hong Kong Sevens and 2 years without a win in the IRB Sevens series is the biggest challenge the Digicel Fiji Sevens team faces in their preparation.
And after losing the World Cup Sevens title the national Sevens selectors have faced alot of criticism on how they have picked the players to be in the Sevens team.
National selectors Dan Lobendan says the rugby public must understand that Sevens rugby has changed and now any team can win a tournament.
Lobendan adds the biggest challenge is for the young players to know the importance of representing the national team.
Fiji is pooled with Chinese Taipei, Canada and Samoa in the Hong Kong Sevens.
The Hong Kong Sevens will kick-off on the 27th to the 29th of this month.
