A 24 year old Carpenter of Korowiri, Labasa who was charged with 10 counts of larceny, was today sentenced to 10 months imprisonment by the Nausori Magistrates court.
Iftikaar Ali today pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced by Magistrate Sunil Kumar.
The court heard that between 31st of August and 6th of September this month, Ali withdrew more than $5,600 from the account of a 56 year old retired security officer, who he was staying with.
Ali stole the ATM card and withdrew money from the account on 10 different occasions.
Magistrate Kumar while sentencing him highlighted that he had breached the trust of the person who offered him a place to stay and that the money has not been recovered.
