There are still ten evacuation centres in operation with the number of evacuees standing at 252 in the Western Division.

Principal DISMAC Officer Patiliai Dobui said there are 3 centres in Lautoka which have 51 evacuees, 3 in Nadi with 92 people while in Ba four evacuation centres are catering for 109 evacuees.

Dobui said rations have been distributed to a total of 17,321 people so far while 103,256 people are yet to receive rations and DISMAC officials are on the ground distributing rations to flood victims.

He said there have been additional requests for assistance for Nadi after their final survey by 8956 people in Nadi, Nawaka, Sabeto, Rukuruku and Sikituru.

According to Dobui, 30,667 people in Tailevu, Naitasiri, Rewa and Korovou have been assessed to receive relief food assistance and work is underway to provide these flood victims with ration.
