As Tropical Cyclone Mick leaves Fiji, it has left one person dead, two are believed to have drowned while two fishermen are still missing at sea.

A Class eight student from Drala village in Nadarivatu died instantly when a tree fell on him last night.

He was trying to move to somewhere safe when a huge tree fell on him and he died instantly.

His body is now at Tavua hospital awaiting the post mortem.

A 19 year old youth of Ra who attempted to cross a flooded river was swept away by strong currents yesterday afternoon.

He is still missing and police divers are searching for him.

In another incident, a 23 year old man of Keiyasi was also swept away by strong currents while trying to cross a flooded river.

The search continues for him.

Meanwhile, two fishermen who went out to sea despite the warnings are missing near Lautoka.

Assistant Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said the two left for fishing despite the cyclone warning and failed to return.

He said people should adhere to warnings and not to try to go out to sea or try to cross flooded rivers as they could lose their lives.
