He is Fiji's hope to dominate the triple and long jump event during the Pacific Games next month but for Eugene Volmer the World University Games in China is what he needs to test him with the best.
Volmer hopes that his stint in the US will assist him mentally knowing that this game in China is not an easy walk through for him.
Banuve Tabakaucoro, Leslie Copeland, Ratu Tira Narara, Varasiko Toge and Volmer will represent Fiji in China.
The competition will start on the 12th of next month and the athletes will return in time for the Pacific Games in Noumea on the 27th.
