The President has encouraged the women of Macuata to utilize the talents in order to upgrade their economical status and get into small businesses.

While visiting the Seventh Day Adventist Women's Association "Namara Dorcas" in Labasa, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau told the women of government's continuous emphasis on the need for people to move away from relying only on government and make use of their skills.

He was impressed with the sewing and art and craft creation that assisted the women in finding a source of income. Ratu Epeli says although there are many ways of finding funds available in the market, however people must first show the initiative by taking the first step forward before seeking help.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner Northern Inia Seruiratu accompanying the President told the women that plans are in the pipeline for FTIB to provide a booth to display the arts and craft creation made by the Macuata Women in future tourism business shows.

The President is currently on his first official visit of the Northern Division.
