The Solomon Island Prime Minister's Office said it is interested in finding out the problems Fiji is facing in it's road to the 2014 elections.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Secretary to the Solomon Islands Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele said Dr Derek Sikua who arrived into the country yesterday for the "Engaging with the Pacific" meeting is interested in finding out what sort of hurdles Fiji is encountering in it's road towards democracy.
Meanwhile Permanent Secretary for Information, Sharon Smith Johns said the attendance of the Prime Minister of Solomon Islands who is in the middle of elections campaign signifies how important he believes this meeting is.
Manele said despite the fact that their elections are scheduled to be held in the first week of August.
Prime Minister Dr Derek Sikua has committed himself to attending the two day meet.
As of now Prime Minister of PNG, Grand Chief Michael Somare President Anote Tong of Kiribati and Prime Minister Dr Sikua of Solomon Islands are attending.
Smith-Johns said they have also received confirmation from 5 other countries and some of the countries are to confirm the level of their participation.
The "Engaging with the Pacific" meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday at the Natadola Intercontinental Golf and Spa Resort.
Meanwhile Fiji's Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said preparations for the meeting are well underway, and he is looking forward to meeting the interested Pacific leaders.
