A woman is currently in police custody at the Valelevu Police Station after she allegedly assaulted her 16-year-old daughter on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the mother was arrested yesterday.

A post on facebook alleges that the girl was beaten up by her mother. The photos show the girlâ€™s head is heavily bandaged and her arm is in a sling.

According to the post, the girl was taken to the Valelevu Health Centre.
