The 22 Judges and Magistrates in the country are undergoing a four day orientation program to familiarize themselves with the Judiciary in Fiji.

The Chief Registrar's Office confirms that the newly appointed Judges and Magistrates from Sri Lanka are part of the program being conducted by the Chief Justice Anthony Gates at the Lagoon Resort.

The orientation covers judicial ethics, culture, gender, disadvantaged, Equality, Prisons Act and visiting justices.

The Judges and Magistrates will also undergo training on the Courts and the Community, the New Domestic Violence Decree and Sentencing principles.

The Orientation program ends on Saturday.
