Melbourne Storm captain Harry Grant scored a hattrick to assist his side thump the Sharks 37-10 in the NRL last night.

The Storm scored six tries and produced a second half shutout to leave Cronulla seeking to end a seven-match losing streak in finals when they host the winner of tonight's Cowboys-Knights elimination final at Allianz Stadium.

Grant will celebrate his 100th match in the preliminary final and is hoping to lead the club to a premiership a week later.

Grant scored three tries, winger Will Warbrick scored a double, while five-eighth Cameron Munster scored one try.

The Shark's points came from a try each to Sione Katoa and Briton Nikora.
