The racist policies in our legal framework needs to be eradicated and people should not hinder the process as this will only hinder Fiji from moving forward.
This is the view of the Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission and Ombudsman, Doctor Shaista Shameem who said that the move by the Interim Cabinet to see reforms in the area of the electoral system will assist in taking these policies out.
This is in response to the statement made by the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama at the UN General assembly that his regime will look at making the necessary legal changes in the area of electoral reform, to ensure true equality at the polls.
